Matt Mason Fiasco "Through Your Twisted Eyes in These Twisted Times" EP Review

Just over two years removed from their debut EP, Reinvention, Matt Mason Fiasco returns with their sophomore effort, Through Your Troubled Eyes In These Twisted Times.

The three-track EP, recorded once again at Dartmouth, Nova Scotia's Omni Arts Studios by Fred Lee & Chance Gillis, was intended to be a full-length album but, due to the imminent closing of the studio, ended up a second EP. Not to fret, however, as the raw emotion, coupled with elegant strings, immediately draws you in and tightly holds your attention.

It takes a certain type of musical chemistry; an it-factor, so to speak, to create the sort of sound that Matt Mason Fiasco continues to produce. Whatever it is, they've found it.

The four-piece beautified grunge group, consisting of Matt Blauvelt (vocals, guitars, drums), Sean Robinson (guitars, percussion), Paul Tupper (violin), and Fred Lee (bass), have another beautiful mess placed upon the table. A sound like none other. A sound all their own.

I've always had an issue with having new music grow on me. It typically takes me a few listens through an album to truly appreciate it. MMF, on the other hand, has found a way to immediately speak to me. A rare trait for such an original-sounding band.

Through Your Troubled Eyes In These Twisted Times. What an appropriate title. The only question I am left with after a few full listens through the entire EP, is when do I get to hear the other seven tracks? I'd dare to say that a new-length will definitely be in order in the not too distant future, and I have a feeling that you will strongly agree with me once you have a listen to their latest effort.

Way of the Future is here!!!

Even with the debut album dropping only a few short months ago, we are back with a brand new release, Way of the Future!

You'll definitely want to hear this one because we don't even know what we've done ourselves.

From 1940's jazz samples to Fear Factory-esque hooks mixed with cowbell, we are most certainly going to throw you off. Enough said....

We decided to go with absolutely no features on this record as well to give you the one hundred percent Hypocritia experience.

One thing's for sure though: with Hypocritia, you never know what to expect.... Except now, the wondering can cease!

Alright ya Hypocritz, the time is finally now! Here it is, Hypocritia's debut effort "Theme of the Dream." 20 tracks packed full of emotion, originality, experimentalism, and comedic relief.

Naztee, a Hip-Hop artist, and Bud Ogden, an experimental rock artist, that's Hypocritia in a nutshell.

A surprise from Bud Ogden: Scenario Atmospheric

Bud Ogden on his latest E.P., Scenario Atmposheric...

The songs on Scenario Atmospheric are highly unlikely to be hits. They probably couldn't get radio play. And they most likely wouldn't be enjoyed at a dance or party. What they are more likely to do is stimulate the imagination. A story without words, told in six chapters. Scenario Atmospheric is a journey for the mind of you, the listener.

Here's the Tracklisting:

01: For Flavia
02: Meaningless Opinions
03: Quirky
04: Rotating Mind
05: Follow the Grey Sky
06: Lust vs. Passion

A breath of fresh air for the Yarmouth music scene!

A combination of a number of influences such as black metal, power metal and thrash metal. Corona Australis' first official release the Aurora EP features 6 tracks with intrikit guitar riffs, calming celestial synth and pads and glorified brass all to create an epic journey from The Desolation of Ares, to the calming Dawning and peaceful In The Comfort Of Eversleep. There's no question this album truly marks the beginning of something Yarmouth's never heard before.

Here's the tracklisting:

01. Destiny's Path 02. The Desolation of Ares 03. Dawning
04. In the Comfort of Eversleep 05. And the Pagan Dominion Will Rise
06. Phosphate in Surface Water
